Logged the requisite maneuvers with my safety pilot spouse. I should only need to fly IFR to GRB; from there my wife can get use home.

The ForeFlight digital approach charts are a delight to use, BTW. Everything is laid out better and it’s much faster to take in during flight.

Foul weather for tomorrow’s flight home means I’m flying six approaches and a hold today. KACB, KBFA, N98, and KCVX (full stop, lunch) then back to KTVC. #aviation #flyga #flyifr
The weather looks good for this weekend’s fly-in at #6Y9 (Prickett Groom Field, Sidnaw, Michigan). Hope to see you there! http://6y9.sidnaw.org #aviation #flyga #sidnaw

If you’re around the Upper Midwest with an airplane on Labor Day weekend, swing by Pickett-Grooms airport (6Y9) on Saturday for a fly in, or tent camp with us on the field. #aviation #flyga

TEC routes have always been a bit mysterious to me since we don’t have them in the midwest.

Understanding TEC routes in busy IFR airspace — Advanced IFR, by Pilot Workshops : Air Facts Journal

follow along on this scenario-based IFR flight from Riverside, CA (KRAL) to Long Beach, CA (KLGB). The short, 20-minute flight presents immediate challenges as the workload is high from start to finish in the busy southern California airspace. The flight will utilize and explain a Tower Enroute Control (TEC) route which is an FAA program of standard routes that keep a flight solely within approach control airspace.

Air Facts Journal

In preparation for an upcoming flight, today I completed an instrument proficiency check (IPC). In a bit over an hour in the air, I did:
1. A VOR approach (ANE VOR 9);
2. A partial-panel ILS approach to minimums (200') (ANE ILS 27);
3. Unusual attitude recovery;
4. A GPS approach with a hold, circling (500') to a landing (MIC RNAV/GPS 14 CTL 32).

I was busy, but I flew well (no autopilot). It felt good to get back into the system and to still be able to do a difficult thing.

Getting ready to fly to #6Y9 (#Sidnaw, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula) tomorrow for some fly-in camping with friends. Then we're off to #MDW (#Chicago - #Midway) for some family time. #aviation #flyga

We’re headed to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for Airventure 2024. Looking forward to a week of camping with friends, airplanes, and relaxing.
