The hexagonal 'Ukimi-dō' (浮見堂 'Floating Pavilion') was built in 1916.

In August it is lit with hundreds of candles for the modern Nara Tōka-e (なら燈花会) Obon celebrations (お盆), giving it a magical, otherworldly feel🕯️
