In January, while trying to build my PC, I received a Dead On Arrival PSU from NewEgg. Spadearts, who may still be on Twitter but isn't on here, someone who I share a Discord server with, saw me venting about the issue and remembered that they had a better PSU that was still in its box, one that they'd bought for troubleshooting but never wound up using.
They shipped it to me for free and I had a working computer within a week. I may not know them that well, but they do share a community with me. That counts, right?
