I've been using the #Kensington #ExpertMouse wireless trackball for ages now, and I'm super happy with it. It does #Bluetooth as well as proprietary with a dongle and at home I'm using the dongle. Here's the weird thing - my #Linux workstation often refuses to wake up by pressing the keyboard until I take out the trackball dongle and plug it back in. It's like it's locking up the #USB stack somehow. It's been like this across different distros and kernels (currently #Debian unstable), and AFAIK it doesn't do this under Windows. USB device is 047d:8018 - "Kensington Expert Wireless Trackball Mouse (K72359WW)".

Tips or theories? There is a wired version that might safe me some grief at the home office, but I'd prefer not having to replace it just yet.

I just replaced the ball bearings in my 20-year-old trackball with some silicon nitride ones and I should have done this years ago. It feels like a whole new trackball.
