Der #Bildmischer muss also neben die Bühne, aber vom FOH bedient werden. Jaguttäh. Also eben die Multiview per #NDI an #OBS schicken. Die #ZowieBox macht das nach anfänglichem Zaudern ganz gut, aber mit spürbarer Latenz.

Am Ende: „Frau Werwolf sagt, des g'hört so!” – muss ich eben durchsetzen, dass es läuft, bei der Kundschaft. *grunz*

🧵 The #automixer #plugin for #Linux!

For those who don't know, automixer is a circuit invented by a guy named #DanDugan. (Today: an algorithm.)

Basically it is a tool that compares all mic channels to all other mic channels. In effect, lowers mics not in use. When multiple mics are used, it averages their levels – very quickly.

Most good digital mixing consoles have a built-in automixer these days, such as the #AMM by #AllenAndHeath. I use it all the time when live-mixing dialogue. Especially with headset omni mics, this isn't a handy tool, it's a live-(sound-)savior. (I once used it on 16 open omni mics, would have been a feedback orgy otherwise.)

If you quickly need to mix down a multi-track recording of spoken live dialogue, this thing will save your behind.

If it works as intended, which I'll have to try.

Regular followers know I am a long-term #Linux user, and I hate #Windows11…

Getting prepared for a job at the mixing console I just booted up my #Waves #SuperRackPerformer setup, which runs on a #MacMiniM1 with a #RME #DigifaceDante. Basically, it's for using Waves #plugins live.

X-FDBK fights feedback when used with care, and PSE reduces bleed from drums into vocal mics, and since my #AllenHeathSQ5 has only one insert per channel, I also like to use the de-esser of Waves.

This setup doesn't pay off, but it improves my life on occasion, and the last occasion was a few months ago.

If you boot up a #Windows 11 installation that was last run several months ago, it's simply impossible to work with it.

MacOS however… comes up, logs into the Wifi, gets date and time right, I pop into Superrack Performer and everything works – this is Apple!

(That I had to spend over 150€ for a third-party touch screen driver… that's also Apple then.)

Heute hat mich #MicrosoftTeams mit full Speed Fresse voraus gegen die Wand rennen lassen.

Mega-Anschiss vom CEO des Kunden, viele Entschuldigungen, aber der eigentliche Verursacher blieb frei von jeglicher Kritik: Letztendlich hat #Microsoft #Teams einfach nicht richtig funktioniert.

Aber #msTeams ist gesetzt, man ist mehr als verheiratet damit.
