If you want to deactivate your account, you can just re-enter your password and go.

If you want to download your data (as you are allowed per GDPR and I always do), you need to confirm your account per SMS or e-mail. The SMS never arrives and the e-mail...

... well my Postfix just bounced it for a good reason. The host in Helo command, just does not resolve. The outgoing MTA servers are still on the *.twitter.com subdomain. The subdomains for *.x.com just do not have any A(AAA) records.

I tried it two times. MTAs from twitter used were

spruce-goose-ak.{twitter,X}.com
respectively
spring-chicken-ak.{twitter,X}.com
