Zdecydowałem się otworzyć DualShocka i go wyczyścić.

Znalezienie właściwych narzędzi i rozbieranie zajęło mi około godziny. Dotarłem w końcu do potencjometrów, wyczyściłem je sprężonym powietrzem (czytaj: przy pomocy płuc), znalazłem trochę kocich kłaków. Kolejne pół godziny potrzebowałem, żeby rozszyfrować jak to złożyć z powrotem, z bólem pleców. Po podłączeniu okazało się, że L2/R2 latają przypadkowo.

Rozebrałem więc raz jeszcze. Zacząłem składać ponownie, upewniając się, że płyta główna dobrze przylega do membrany. Po założeniu baterii zauważyłem, że nie podłączyłem taśmy od touchpada. Rozebrałem znów, złożyłem. Jakimś cudem działa!

Póki co, analog śmiga bez problemów, więc może jednak wymiana nie będzie potrzebna. Wszak nie używam pada zbyt często.

I've decided to open the #DualShock and try cleaning it up.

Took me about an hour to find the right tools and disassemble it, getting to the analog stick potentiometers. Used compressed air (read: lungs) to clean them up. Found a bit of cat hair. Took me about half an hour to figure out how to reassemble it properly, with my back aching already. After reassembly, it turned out that side triggers randomly… well, trigger.

Disassembled it again. Started reassembling while making sure that the mainboard is tightly in place. After putting the battery back in, noticed that I didn't connect the touchpad ribbon. Disassembled again, reassembled. Miraculously, it works.

The analog stick causes no trouble so far, so maybe it won't need replacement for a while still. After all, I'm not using it much.

Warum ich mich so sehr auf den neuen #SteamController freue? Hatte man einmal ein #SteamDeck in der Hand, fühlt sich ein #Xbox Controller extrem eingeschränkt an. Ich hatte vor kurzem sogar den #DualSense Controller der #PS5 in der Hand und selbst der ist besser als dieser, dabei hatte ich #PlayStation gerade wegen des Controllers immer gemieden, aber jegliche Mängel scheinen mit dem DualSense beseitigt worden zu sein. Ich hatte zwar eine #PS2, aber den #DualShock Controller mochte ich nie.

Yasssss, so far, this #SteamOS update seems to have fixed my Bluetooth wake issue on my #SteamDeck!

Soo the 'allow (bluetooth) device to wake the Steam Deck' setting is now actually respected (previously, disabling this would still allow the device/peripheral to wake the Deck), and when the Deck is put to sleep, my #gaming controller does not wake the Deck back up (causing a loop).

I've only tested this with the #DualSense tho, still need to test it with my #DualShock 4, and the worst culprit previously - the #Xbox controller. Anyway, super happy to have this functionality so there's no longer a need to manually turn on the Deck if, say, it was docked to a TV.

Any recs for #NintendoSwitch controllers that support wired, bluetooth, and wireless (dongle) modes that not only works on the #Nintendo Switch but also PC/#SteamDeck?

I previously got the (overly) hyped #GuliKit KK3 MAX #game controller and that was honestly shit - I was initially impressed by what you got for the money, but its wireless mode was stupid and had higher latency than bluetooth, somehow, and the quality is fucking terrible.

I'm not a 'hardcore' gamer and yet it was enough to physically break the left thumbstick?? so it's totally unusable now - funny how it's 'hall effect' this and that these days and somehow as someone who's never gotten stick drift on any #Sony PS, #XBOX, or Nintendo controllers of mine, this hot new thing was the one that got damaged, far worse than a stick drift lol.

Something like the KK3 MAX but not broken or have shitty wireless latency would be nice. Nicer if it's as similar as possible in form factor with the #DualShock 4 controllers than them fat XBOX controllers, but I don't think that's a thing so that's not a hard requirement.
