@polymerwitch @KolokokoBird yes, @agaric is trying to build the #indieweb approach of 'post on your own site first, syndicate elsewhere' into #drutopia, and we have a client looking to build a big aggregate 'green events' calendar so maybe we'll be able to make some progress on this for events. If it's possible at all to push events to a Facebook (page or group) from a website, happy to help maintain a brid.gy style service for that.

Thoughts welcome here or here:

Contributors and editors can push events to as many aggregators and silos that will except events (that is, understand dates and location) as possible (#323) · Issues · Drutopia / Drutopia distribution · GitLab

What about Drutopia? What have been some outcomes?
#Drutopia
“”Drutopia is an initiative combining the principles of software freedom, community ownership, and intersectional politics to co-develop technologies that meet our needs and reflect our values. https://www.drutopia.org

The more ambitious features I envisioned for PiNZ aren't specific to people doing permaculture, but are shared by any community organization whose members inhabit a geographical area too large for regular #F2F meetings to be practical. Particularly those operating at a country-scale, or internationally. These features need to be developed as part of an out-of-the-box installation of a global project, like #Drutopia.

Feeling inspired to assert my online identity via the #indieweb.

I have claytondewey.org registered. Now I need to do something with it.

Plan on dogfooding by installing #Drutopia and adding the Drupal Indieweb module to see how far that takes me.

My day-job org recently did a marketing consultant thing, and one of the recommendations was to move from our aging drupal install to a platform more easily managed by non-technical peeps (Wordpress was their recc.).

Before doing that, my sense is that #Drutopia is looking to occupy that niche. @FreeScholar and others, any insights on resources to familiarize myself with that and learn enough to be able to pitch it as a Wordpress alternative to our board?

@wu_lee Drupal. I'm working on a project to try and address that problem in Drupal, through #Drutopia. It's a work in progress but we're getting there. :)

Just launched the new https://www.drutopia.org ! which runs on ... #Drutopia

@Matt_Noyes @Antanicus Yes, that's a great first step.

Also, am I right that it's the group functionality that they use the most? This seems like a serious gap in the FLOSS ecosystem. Someone please speak up if you know of good alternatives here.

I wonder if #Drutopia can help in this space.
