Digital Overdose #conference

It's an #infosec con that we started in 2021, mostly fresh on the wave of numerous conferences that had gone virtual during COVID.
It had a successful second iteration last spring.

It was also somewhat enabled by the various isolation periods, as most of us organizers and hosts had a bit more free time available than we had before.

But now life is "normalizing" (for lack of a better word), and most of us are dealing with an increased uptick in things to do, and a notable decrease in spoons to get them done.
Out of the 3 organizers, I'm currently in the process of finishing my MSc thesis, getting started at a job and dealing with personal life logistics and administrative shenanigans.
The two others have themselves had significantly impactful events in their personal and professional lives that they must also deal with.

Thus: spoon't's

So, what does this mean for #docon3? Well... we're doing a timeskip.

That's right: we're aiming for Spring 2024, where we hope that our individual "life" things will have settled down.

It's honestly quite painful for me, mainly because I do enjoy putting it on and traditionally spend many spoons in making it an enjoyable experience.

But we can't spend what we don't have.

So until then:
- our community's doors are still open (Discord link in bio)
- our #ctf will probably still run in Autumn 2023
- we may have a physical presence at various cons, with stickers and stuff, in an informal meetup capacity (more on that as it happens)
