Last episode I played a track from Jodie Faster’s new LP, Saint Lundi. #jodiefaster are a HC band from Lille, France, playing since 2016.

The album title comes from a medieval European tradition where workers took off Mondays without a warning, often to meet at the tavern and party. It was a way to reclaim free time beyond the Church’s Sunday, and often a spark for strikes and rebellion. Industrialization killed the tradition in the 19th century, but its joyful defiance lives on in the Jodie Faster record.
