Hmm, I've been setting a 20 minute timer to look further away and stretch, and wouldn't you know it, it prevents headaches, eye strain and sore shoulders. Who would have thought every health professional and thousands of peer reviewed studies were right. So annoying.

Every 30 minutes, a ping from a timer on my desk tells me it is time for a short training session.

I get up and do one pull, one push and one squat exercise. 15-20 reps, every minute on the minute, meaning I have one minute to finish each set and rest before the next set.

On my desk I have two small bowls, one with beads and one empty. After every training session, I transfer one bead to the bowl that starts out empty. That way I keep track of how many sessions I do each day.

Dutch perk: 1 hour biking to and from work.

@maaikees I did actually use the standing feature of my standing desk for a few hours today, thanks #DeskDwellers for the guilt trip about this!

Desk Dweller mission of sitting less is going well! Did all my steps on the walking pad today, as I was too busy to go outside, oops.

Sit less.

Go get that cup of tea, take that small walk, do 10 body-weight squats while you wait for your CI/CD pipeline to finish, get creative!

@maaikees I got a standing-capable desk but hardly ever used it, till I got an off-brand Bosu ball (half a yoga ball in a base). You can bounce! which is MUCH more fun than standing. I feel like it strengthens my foot and ankle better too. #deskDwellers

@maaikees 2 things that have helped were:

- neck training, nothing wild, just a couple of sets of neck curls and neck extensions a week
- getting up to do dead hangs off a chin up bar a few times during my shift.

@maaikees Anything that helps moving my back. For me, that's swimming (no surprise here), but also the rowing & cross country skiing machines at the gym.

And, dare I say it, house hold chores. At least, that gets me any from my desk. 😀

@maaikees Go for a walk. Get outside, feel the sunshine (Or wind/rain). Detach from that desk occasionally.
