Denis Law was the only Scottish player to win the Ballon D’or.

Unfortunately he was labelled for years as the player who scored the goal (for Manchester City) which relegated Manchester United to the old Second Division in 1974.

Can we please lay this to rest as it’s not true. Manchester United were relegated due to other results, it didn’t matter what the result was in the Derby between City and United.
