Another problem to anticipate: What if the profile host of a friend is temporarily or permanently unavailable?

Well it wouldn't be that bad since you would still have your local copy of your friend's profile in your contact book app. That's the beauty of local-first data storage!

The fact that we'd rather accept the #enshittification due to #TechIlliterate decisionmakers got us into this shithole that allows the #GAFAM to basically squeeze people into conformity and empowers them more than any #landlord, #cop or #judge!

We need to #decentalize and #SelfHost - not just #SelfHosting of some apps and stuff, but rather overtaking existing #infrastructure and owning that!
