On this day in 1945 U-1064 was given to the Russian Navy. My Dad's job was to make sure no secrets were given away to the USA or Russia navies when the "newer" surrendered U-boats were taken as prizes by the Tripartite delegation at Loch Ryan. The rest were sunk in "Operation Deadlight" off Derry
We got Christmas cards from Oberleutnant zur See Liebling well after the end of the war.
My grandson built a plastic model of the actual boat - Lt. Cmdr Henry would be tickled pink.
