At the upcoming FORCE11 conference, Make Data Count will host a session to discuss milestones in data citations and their important role in understanding the reach of #opendata.

Join Iratxe Puebla, Scott Edmunds, Kristi Holmes and Ricardo Hartley Belmar on August 1 to test our knowledge of the data citation landscape, and explore what lies ahead to unleash the full potential of #datacitations.

Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Unlocking the Power of Data Citation: First Release of the Data Citation Corpus. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

The lack of a centralized resource for citations to datasets has hindered the evaluation of how open data is used. To address this community need, DataCite is leading a project to bring together data citations from diverse sources into a comprehensive and publicly accessible resource: the Data Citation Corpus. The first release of the corpus is the result of a partnership with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to incorporate for the first time citations for datasets with both DOIs and accession numbers. Join our webinar to hear about the first release of the corpus, provide feedback on its current features, and learn more about how you can engage with the project. Chair: Stefanie Haustein, Associate Professor, University of Ottawa and co-director of the ScholCommLab Speakers: - Iratxe Puebla, Director Make Data Count, DataCite - Ana-Maria Istrate, Senior Research Scientist, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative The slides and recording will be shared afterwards through the DataCite Zenodo Community and YouTube Channel, respectively. Please complete the details below to register.
