As usual, a nice article from The Oaklandside. I feel such a sense of relief having local news coverage in Oakland that is free from corporate management.

I attended this meeting and was impressed (again!) by DA Price. She did an excellent job explaining that the many attorneys who report to her have to follow the law in deciding which cases to prosecute. If a judge or jury won't convict based on the evidence, she can't legally hold them. But past prosecutors, it seems, have not followed the law.

I'm thinking about all the folks who get arrested and pushed into plea deals to avoid prosecution. Some of these people plead guilty to crimes they did not commit because they are scared and misled about their chances in court and they don't have appropriate counsel.

Tonight at 6pm the Montclair Presbyterian Church in Oakland, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price will go up against what I expect to be unruly opponents of her work who are trying to recall her for doing what she said she would do.

A majority of us in Alameda County elected Pamela Price to a full term as DA to reform the prosecutor's office. Her opponents are trying to undo our hard work for no other reason than they don't want the prosecutor's office of Alameda County to be reformed.

Price's opponents are circulating disinformation about leftists like me, saying we are likely to get violent at this event. Dudes: Leftists are hippies. We don't do violence. ☮️✌🏻☮️✌🏻☮️✌🏻
