The USS Lexington (CV-16) is an Essex Class Aircraft Carrier. The Lexington was first commissioned in 1943 and saw extensive service in the Pacific during WWII.

Decommissioned for the last time in 1991, the Lexington now operates as a museum ship in Corpus Christi, TX.

The Essex Class was the most produced class of Aircraft Carrier in history. 24 were built between 1941-1950 and 4 are preserved as museums.
