in case anyone's interested, I have a 500 w psu and I just bought an msi radeon rx 580. a) a couple of reviews of this card have said it has intermittent power spikes, b) considering the two new hard drives I just bought, and the two monitors I plan to run this thing with, a beefier psu is probably a good idea anyway. c) still. #ugh #couldthingjustwork
