Was happy to contribute a bit today to #Drupal's #ContributionWeekend
I submitted a few issues and added to a few others. I also finally got Drupal CMS's AI running (Thanks #Anthropic for making it easy).
Problem/Motivation Longstanding core module statistics is being deprecated and removed from core, following [#3413917], [#3340834] and other related issues. Because statistics is still used by many sites, 5% to 9% depending on which numbers you want to, that means at least 800k*5% = 40k sites, presumably smaller ones not using data-grabbing third-party SaaS, it needs at the very least to be preserved. Because it has received comparatively little attention over the years, it also needs to be improved, and there are multiple directions for that.

Which issues you've been working on?
Problem/Motivation Currently the session is only available from the request in tests running in the child site. Neither BrowserTestBase nor KernelTestBase add a session to the request when populating the request stack in preparation of a test-run. As a result, production code has to guard access to the session using $request->hasSession(), but only in some cases. This leads to an inconsistent call patterns into the session API throughout the code base.
