Building and operating a developer platform effectively requires high levels of discipline.
Otherwise the platform can become a dumping ground for things no other team wants to own or can result in high cognitive load for engineers who have to maintain so many one-off solutions.
There are no real silver bullets or magic frameworks to help. I think a lot comes down to being disciplined and principled knowing how to say "no" the right way.

Ein gebrochener Fuß kann mich nicht aufhalten. Dank wunderbaren Freunden, einigen Taxis und dem wirklich großartigen Mobilityservice der ÖBB, konnte ich heute trotz massiver Geheinschränkungen an der für mich über 180km entfernten #CodeCrafts Konferenz in Wien teilnehmen.
Wie bereits letztes Jahr, großartige Konferenz mit viel Fokus auf Architektur.
Nächstes Jahr dann wieder dabei, und da dann hoffentlich ohne hinigen Haxxn 😅
Strong jokes game and decades of experience on display. Dave Thomas was pretty impressive for a cranky old professor* at #codeCrafts Vienna today.
It's amazing to have a role model like Dave who has so much experience yet still retains his love of the game and can inspire and entertain large crowds.
If you get the chance to attend one of Dave's talks, I highly recommend it.
