It recently underwent changes and needed a new instance to change its name to MitiGator. Why change instances? The previous instance, mamot.fr, had #closedRegistrations.
The new, chosen instance may have lured the service to gain follower data and/or destroy the service.
May be a case of #chooseYourInstanceWisely but we're investigating.

There seems to be an ongoing attack on Fediverse infrastructure.
Recently we learned that the website https://fediverse.space is down.
This website helped people find a Fedi instance right for them. It showed where the instance was based, whether #Cloudflare, toot #characterLimits, #uptime, #closedRegistrations and more.
This comes after various devs have been said to have been attacked. These can be seen as attacks on Fedi.
