toay it was Winchester & the sun
It was pretty great, like all of these it falls apart when you get close, but it was nice at a distance

#RuinedPrioryFriday & while Malmesbury Abbey still partially survives as a functioning church, you can see where it has bifurcated from its original, much larger structure
Along with some gorgeous romanesque work
#AdoorableThursday with the delightfully tiny #Saxon doorways of St Laurence, Bradford-on-Avon
#ChancelArchTuesday with this amazingly tall (39ft) romanesque chancel arch from St Andrew & St Cuthman, Steyning
Part of the original c12 building programme but needed restoration in 1863 after it almost collapsed
#TympanumTuesday & its back to St Nicholas Barfrestone for this, unbelievably elaborate romanesque portal (esp. in proportion to the size of the church itself)
St Michaels in Amberley, Sussex - with surviving medieval paintings of the crucifixion from around 1300 & a c12 font thats been quite heavily restored
Love this shot, the interior of Ávila Cathedral looking up
#AdoorableThursday with this beautiful gothic portal at Ávila Cathedral 🇪🇸
