I know I've been speaking about Chronicle a lot on here and it could be driving you mad and I'm sorry about that.
With one thing and another, my finances have had a little bit of a crash especially with testing and paying subscriptions especially for Codex and Gemini.
I'm going to put my PayPal link and my buy me a coffee page out here and if anyone can spare a couple of bucks, I'd be so grateful but if not, that's not a problem either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Berlinale 2026 — In the Dark, Between Fracture and Understanding - j:mag

For me, a festival does not begin with light. It begins with darkness. With that moment when the house lights fade and no image has yet touched the screen. I hold my breath. I do not know what will break first: the silence of the room or my own certainties. j:mag

Something else I will be adding to the prompt engine of chronicle in the next few days along with some other exciting additions.

CULTURAL & ANCIENT LANGUAGE PRESERVATION:

If the document contains indigenous languages (such as te reo Māori, Navajo, Hawaiian) or ancient scripts (such as Latin, Biblical Hebrew, Koine Greek, Sanskrit), strictly preserve the original text, including all specific diacritical marks, macrons, and accents. Do NOT auto-translate these terms if they are mixed into an English sentence.
Also adding some rules for mathematic documents, Medical, scientific, and other journals. #Accessibility #vibecoding #AI #chronicle #Preservation #archives #academia

Because I know how fucking annoying it is to have to keep track of change logs and keep finding new setups files and manually getting new versions of the script when I change things for #chronicle on GitHub, I’m currently building an update script for both mac and windows.
This means you’ll be able to run the script when I announce a new update and it will just check and download the new stuff including any new dependencies and install Everything.
I'm building a safety mechanism into this as well so it will always ignore the API key that you might have in the folder.
As long as Everything's in the same directory and it's set up in the way it's meant to be set up, the script will work.
Putting it together now with Gemini.

I've just pushed out a massive update for chronicle so there are new setup files.
Massive update to the Chronicle Document Extractor today!
i just rolled out v1.5.0, bridging the gap between historical archival, accessibility, and modern software integration.

Added native EPUB export! You can now batch-scan massive amounts of physical diaries or letters and have Chronicle stitch them seamlessly into an accessible eBook for VoiceOver or standard e-readers.
Added JSON and CSV formats, allowing developers and commercial databases to hook Chronicle’s extraction engine directly into their own API pipelines.
i also overhauled the OCR prompt engine to specifically target Legal and Legislative documents. Chronicle now meticulously preserves strict legal hierarchy (Parts, Sections, Subclauses) and defined terms, preventing the "flattening" that ruins contracts in standard OCR.

The tool is growing up fast. Code is live on GitHub!

Have just pushed out the latest updates for chronicle.
Because I've added new dependencies for Microsoft Excel, everyone will need to run the setup file again to install the new libraries.
I've made sure in the relevant document such as they read me and change log but especially with the read me to make this clear. #Chronicle #Accessibility #OCR #AI
Doing a bit of work on chronicle today.
I am adding support so the program can handle Microsoft Excel documents and breakdown data into nice clean tables to navigate on the request of someone.
Also going to update the readme file to stipulate that if I add a new library, you will need to run the set up files for Windows or Mac again.
Also making sure it's a bit easier for people to see the zip file that GitHub made so you can download everything to run on the system so you can run the setup files on the system.
Also updating .txtrequirements to reflect these new changes.

Have just been squashing bugs with chronicle my new AI driven document scanner.

This is the latest:

Feature: Added Menu 10 for True Seamless Document Merging (v1.3.0)

- Introduced Menu 10 (Technical Appendix), allowing users to completely disable all metadata, confidence scores, and dates.
- Enhanced "Merge Mode" so that when the appendix is excluded, multi-page documents (like handwritten letters) are stitched together with zero page-boundary interruptions, creating a 100% continuous reading flow.
- Updated README and CHANGELOG to reflect the new 10-menu architecture.
