Today: at MSG for a matinee! Vampire Weekend Sunday afternoon show.

Daytime is cool! Tons of families with young kids. Place is pretty full, I'm in the cheap seats, literally. Maybe the worst seat I've ever had here. As much as I hate to admit it, the Garden has got the livemusic thing down. A great place to see a show, miraculously hassle-free... If you can make it past the facial recognition, of course.

#MusicHistory #OTD in 1972 it was a #HotAugustNight at the just opened that summer outdoor #PineKnobMusicTheater in a wooded area outside Detroit...and #NeilDiamond , one of the country's hottest #TouringActs was playing the final show of an amazingly well received five night run at the venue, entertaining yet another near capacity crowd that week of nearly 7,000 under the covered canopy ringing the stage, with several thousand more in the $3 #CheapSeats out under the stars on an expanse of green grass lawn. Neil's 90 min set covered a wide swath of music from his songbook dating back to his #BrillBuilding & #BANG records days, such as #CherryCherry from 1966, the lonely guy anthems #Shiloh, #IAmISaid & #SolitaryMan along with handclappin' faves like #SweetCaroline #CracklinRosie and show closin' encore Brother Love's Travelin' Salvation Show.
