Just had a look at the #ChampionsChessTour 'play-in' day 1 and once again, don't recognize the format, nor understand it after reading the reports. Can't say I'm motivated to watch it... #chess
Just rereread the format regulations of the ongoing #championschesstour event, and still have no idea how it works, especially since it seems to be a knockout with an odd number of players. It's fantastic that the tour is so much more open rather than invitational, but the chaotic sprawl of the system makes me want to turn it off...
When watching streamed #chess such as the #ChampionsChessTour the players are always on at least one camera and constantly staring at the digital board. Whereas the #NepoDing world champs hardly ever has the players by the board, making me wonder why it’s called over-the-board 🙃

" This year’s Champions Chess Tour will be the new online home for the world’s best players, as they battle it out for a share of more than $2 million.

Played on website Chess.com, the annual circuit will consist of six tournaments, starting with the Airthings Masters in February."

#chess24 #meltwater #championsChessTour I don‘t know why anybody needs to drink canned water during a chess tournament. So much waste. 🙄
