“Optische Täuschung” / Optical illusion

One of my favorite images, showing forced perspective on a cosmic scale. This is the nebula CG 4 (a.k.a. the “Hand of God”), looking like a monster about to devour a tiny galaxy. In reality, the spiral galaxy is vastly larger than CG 4 and more than a hundred million light years further away.
