Some memories from a few weeks ago: poster presentations from our lab at #CFA2025

Every time I go to a scientific conference, it's the same pattern: just before leaving, I find myself regretting that I signed up in the first place because there are so many urgent things on my plate... But once I'm there, I'm reminded how sharing ideas with peers is the essence of our work. #cfa2025

My picks from today at #cfa2025 (the French acoustics conference):
- humans can locate a source of vibrations around them based only on the perception through their feet on the ground -- but not if they stand on one foot.
- There are auditory equivalents of the "gorilla experiment", demonstrating an effect of attentional deafness.
- There is a **HUGE** interindividual variability in the ability to detect repeated patterns in a noise.
