At the Community Data Science Workshop prep session. It's so nice to actually talk to real people trying out #Python for the first time! When things like finding strings in a list that contain a specific substring feels cool and exciting! I feel like I'm reliving my own first steps :-)

The move to my new laptop is mostly completed. Installed new Ubuntu afresh, re-installed most of software and cherry-picked configs and data from backup.

Now I'm ready to go helping/mentoring at #cdsw tomorrow.

In bad news: under Gnome 3 my computer feels as sluggish as a Mac. Old Unity did feel faster :-(

Just volunteered as a mentor for a local Data Science workshop. Gotta use my unemployed time productively.
