#Roy exploring the woods on #Caturday in the snow. Due to recent thaws then freezes the snow is pretty firm, otherwise Roy has trouble in softer snow because he's a large 6kg/13.2 lb cat, who has fairly small paws. So he usually sinks in unless there's a packed trail.

His clowder buddy here has much larger paws and thicker fur so he can handle colder conditions, and soft snow.

Январские кошки | January Cats

Yesterday I took my first photos of this year and this winter. I went to check on my usual cat colony and took my camera with me. It was too early and the light was terrible. The last photo was taken before dawn, under the streetlights.

I rarely photograph cats in winter, so as not to keep them outside longer than necessary and to avoid unnecessarily freezing them.

Вчера я сделал первые фотографии в этом году и этой зимой. Ходил проведать свою обычную колонию кошек и взял с собой камеру. Было слишком рано и свет был отвратительный. А последняя фотография была сделана до рассвета в свете фонарей.

Я почти не снимаю кошек зимой, чтобы не задерживать их на улице дольше, чем нужно и не морозить лишний раз.
