@juliew2010 Lived in Canberra for 18 years and never heard it called "Quangers" before. I presume it means Queanbeyan.

And since when are earthquakes "weather"?!?

🙂

46mm in my rain gauge this morning :-)

I reckon there's a couple of inches in my rain gauge this morning. I'll empty it this evening and find out for certain then.

I hate to think how much rain they got Southside, since the news was talking about flash flooding down there.

Just went to Westfield Belco to pick up some quilting fabric. I arrived at 11:45 - tons of vacant car spots in the undercover car park. Came out at 12:10 and there were queues of cars circling looking for a spot in the shade. What happened in that 25 minutes to make everyone rush to Belco? #Canberra #CanberraWeather
So with all the hot weather here in Canberra recently, I did not expect to find a large zucchini in our garden.
It's 28cm long and 764g. Dessert spoon in second pic for scale (sorry, no bananas). #canberra #canberraweather #gardening

That’s right, Pippin!

The window’s *open* !

Didn't actually have to hang my socks or underwear up to dry today, they just kinda dessicated where I left them in the laundry basket. #CanberraWeather
I love the birds in the mornings. The industrial size sprinklers were on at the golf course:
- the magpies stand near the sprinkler head but just far enough away that they don't get blasted off into space but get a nice constant mist
- the ducks stand where the water fall is heaviest. You can watch the ducks sploot flat as the water pelts down on them.
- the galahs take off, yelling and screaming, as the water comes around to them, OMG we're being attacked. Then land in exactly the same spot, only to scream into the air 45 seconds later with the next rotation of the sprinkler. I'm sure it's a great fun game; after all, they could go 2 metres away and they'd be safe.
