At the #CADMV where there’s a wait to even find out how long you have to wait. This is the 4th non consecutive day of visits to resolve a car issue. I reluctantly own a car. The constant prompts that „maybe you could do this online“ are just salt in wound. I have socket set in car for the plates. Each time they say there’s an cryptic error in the database and to come back in a few
months (or ironically call the DMV). .
And hurray trying to deal with the #CADMV today - their online booking tool. You open it, click a date as fast as you can (doesn't seem to matter how fast), and it says the time is not available. After you fail at this 5 or 6 times they show you a captcha to slow you down... everything in the first week was a decoy. Oddly enough if I started the process over, it shows me the same time options, so they aren't getting taken, it's just not showing me things I can actually book. How bad can you be at this.. CA DMV..
THis is a new digital low. Also #CADMV I guess it's only fair that we don't make virtual assistants work evenings and weekends.. #AI agents are people too..
the #cadmv app meanwhile is just a failure paradise. Uninstalled and reinstalled. It now gives me both a create account option and a logout option though it won’t show me anything related to my login.
To be fair, the #CADMV app does warn you not to close it ( while you're standing in line juggling credentials at the airport). You can smell the fear of the app developers who didn't grasp basic ACID concepts for safely updating data.
Airports are wonderful places to experience UX fail. The electronic #CADMV app just needs a few minutes to update when you open it in line at security. (it never finished). restarted app and now it says „startup completed!“ and is still showing me a progress bar at 40%. I guess 40% of life is just completing startup.
but some can’t. (DMV surveying me about my experience fighting with their automated system that eventually transferred me to a „team member“ who wasn’t there because the whole office was on vacation. #cadmv. I’d usually give them high marks for being organized but this project has been a nightmare.
These #cadmv driving exam questions are so ridiculous. One of the ones my kid missed was because he didn't know the jail term for manslaughter while evading the police. What the hell does that have to do with learning how to drive?!? It's a driving test not a bar exam for being a lawyer!!

Autonomously driving like a self-centered jerk. #Waymo pulls into the intersection to stop at a red light, blocking anyone from proceeding up the side street needlessly. #AutonomousVehicles #CAPUC #CADMV #SanFrancisco Apparently these systems are being designed to drive like the worst among us.
