Day 3 of trying to send better than 30 Hz 4K to the #Vizio, now a 6-year-old antique, I got a completely different ROM image to flash from the manufacturer. Their documentation is best described as chaotic words on many pages, none of which are for the Mac, though they all say they are, when it comes to this one dongle from hell. No offense, #CableMatters.

At least, their tech support is very responsive and patient with customers. 👍

And it will still only get me to 60 Hz. Sigh, #Apple. 👎

This is absolute bullshit:

"If you want to run a 4K 120Hz external display over HDMI from your M1 or M2 MacBook, you’ll need the following:

An M1 or M2 Mac or MacBook running MacOS Ventura 13.2 or later. If in doubt, update your Mac before proceeding.

...

A Windows PC with USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode capabilities."

WHAT THE ABSOLUTE... you need a WINDOWS PC WITH USB-C to flash FOR A MACINTOSH??

I am so pissed off at #CableMatters I could spit. Every other adapter has a Mac flash installer.
