#c4l23 (catching up)

Most important presentation of my life @ #c4l23

Substitute Machine Learning for AI in the title and this was a really clear #c4l23 talk about matching MARC data (remember that stuff) using a feedforward neural network:

Artificial Intelligence for matching MARC records

glad to report i survived somehow #c4l23
Enjoying #c4l23 (code4lib.org) conf remotely this week but I'm a little surprised to not see any presenters from public libraries (besides library of Congress).. not fault of organizers, but their absence, I guess, is a result of less capacity of public libraries having less staff with web/ux/tech/software development skills compared to academic libraries. 1/?
scarfing down two leftover fast food tacos drowning in hot sauce an hour before my #c4l23 presentation may not have been my wisest move ever
Getting fomo from these #c4l23 toots. (Thanks for tooting, y'all! Looks like a great conference.)
"The mid-oughts were kind of a sad time for walls of text" says Allan Berry about library web sites over time. Also, in general, they've gotten less performant but more accessible. Really interesting talk. https://brachio.xyz/ #c4l23

Allan Berry recommending _How Buildings Learn_ -- I agree; this book is amazing. #c4l23
