I've been on the lookout for an affordable sun hat with a chin strap that travels well for a while. A few years ago, I probably would have found one on Amazon by now and bought a bunch of other junk to bring my order up to $35 for the free shipping.

Instead, I waited until Costco had one for $12.99 and didn't buy anything else other than food. Boycotting Amazon saved me at least $22 on this purchase alone.
