📕🪡🧵 bookbinding. Finished a set of books. Koi fish theme with net pattern stitch. Using red and black thread to match the cover🎏
What’s not visible are the unwanted knots, stuck threads and the restitching to take out mistakes 😅

Description: two small sized sketchbooks. Cover with black lining of white Japanese koi fish with red dot on the head.
Back of the book is stitched with four horizontal lines extended to the front and back. Two large bands of stitches with fishnet pattern. Ended with a knotstitch. Second book with same stitching but red and black colours are inverted.
Added last collage of some unwanted knots during stitching.

I bought two sheets of this paper yesterday. I thought I'd use it to make a cocktail cookbook. #bookbinding

I am currently bookbinding with a cake slice.

Playing with paper to come up with choices for the journals I'm working on today. Alt text has the plan. I have a shit-ton of decorative paper. I was going to make my own, but I need to get through at least half of what I have before I do that. #bookbinding
For those of you who do #bookbinding, this is the piercing cradle I made based on a YouTube video about it. I happened to have this particular kind of wood trim just sitting in my garage. It's held together with wood glue and the holes were drilled With a drill press 1 cm apart. I numbered them for easy reference. Using this, it's very easy for me to consistently pierce signatures for sewing. This one is about 12 inches long, but it can be any length.
I think I'm going to spend today in my studio, finishing a few #bookbinding projects, prepping a new crucible for Shibuichi and #sandcasting, and/or starting another tiny #leatherworking project. In other words, I'm treating myself to an art and creativity day. I feel like I really need it. (1/2)

Pretty happy with how my custom hardcover of Magnifica Humanitas came out.

By the by, read it, it slaps.
