#31: putting a new cord in your boat's #ensign. Waxed thread and big blunt needles being ideal for sewing the eye and toggle into place at either end.
Can anyone recommend a place that sells vegan(!) leather goods for medieval reenactment/larp?
I'm looking for shoes that pass for ca. 1500AD, bonus if the merchant also sells vegan belts and/or pouches. I'm trying to prove reenactment doesn't have to hurt animals! 🐄
Optionally, does anyone have experience with making turn shoes from synthetic leather or something like pinatex?

New hewing hatchet (German: Beschlagbeil), so a new blade guard was needed.
Similar construction as in https://chaos.social/@daniel_bohrer/114599201781601619 but against expectations I didn't have enough leather for the strap to go around the handle, so I had to undo the already fixed rivet, and improvise a new construction to prevent the loop from sliding off the blade. This time I also (accidentally) put the button on the correct "front" side (at least for right-handed people like me) 😄
My first ever attempt at a leather belt bag, using scaps from a local leather shop.
I wish I had a more fitting buckle, but I had to use what I already own(low income). Hopefully I can get different buckles soon!

I've talked in the past about carrying playing cards.
Unfortunately, playing card boxes aren't really built for life in a backpack.
I've wrapped them with packing tape before and it works well enough, but this time around, I wanted a classier solution.
I decided to try my hand at #leatherworking to make a little sleeve to hold a box of playing cards.
I think it turned out pretty well! Some notes in a thread.
