It's Biketober, and everything is disassembled. The bike on the left (which appears to be red, but is in fact not The Red Bike) has a punctured rear tire. A new tube is on order, as are front and rear brake pads, and a spiffy new lithium battery is waiting to get dropped into it. A valve adjustment will round out the to do list for that one.

The bike on the right, black as it may appear at the moment, is The Red Bike. Most of the red bits are off so I can get at the important bits. Yesterday was a coolant flush, today was the oil change (last week was brake fluid for both bikes), tomorrow is chain maintenance, and threading a new ABS shutoff switch cable. A second spiffy new lithium battery is on order.

As I was taking the panels off The Red Bike, I started thinking about giving it a vinyl wrap in some color like forest green. I think, if I did that, I'd continue to call it The Red Bike.

Mein Rat: Warm anziehen 🥶 Am Abend ist es zwar meist schon etwas kühler, aber dafür ist auf den berühmten Alpenpässen auch nicht mehr so viel los. Hier zum Beispiel das Timmelsjoch. Da bin ich schon ewig lange nicht mehr gefahren. Doch es ist nach wie vor schön und weckt bei mir auch einige schöne Erinnerungen 🥰
My advice: Bundle up warmly 🥶 As the sun dips, so does the temperature, but that also means more tranquility on the iconic Alpine passes. Take Timmelsjoch, for example. It’s been ages since my last visit but it remained beautiful and rekindled cherished memories 🥰
