So.. effectively really.. the tool I'd say that I'm thinking of here, change public posts to unlisted.
It would be a huge wellness feature.
Like hey, back when I was on mastodon .coffee, when I wasn't alright back in December and I just had a ridiculous fixation over spamming #bloob, public and all as that was the last of my thoughts, in the same thread adding an extra #bloob per message until I reach the character limit.. which umm.. imagine if I did that on here in my 100k..
The right answer then absolutely was one of the mods suspending because there was no getting to me when I was fixated, completely focused on that, and about 30 mins later I appealed, that mod restored my account and helped me delete the 100+ posts of endless #bloob.. which was no where near done at all.. and well..
They said if I want to do that, next time do it as unlisted or follower only.
Yea, I ain't doing that again, but hey, in the situation where changing from public to unlisted was an option, that could be a way. But then that doesn't entirely solve remote instsnces on software that doesn't supoort federating those changes.
But changing privacy on posts.. yea.. it would solve so many wellness issues on fedi. Not perfectly, same that entirely deleting isn't perfect either when this is a decentralised place.. and it doesn't always federate such deletes at times. But it would just 100%.. help with wellness so much.
