Next problem: the trickle from the #ramPump is not sufficient to start the #bellSiphon (which otherwise works well). I need some sort of non-linear system that would store water coming slowly, and release it all at once, without an equilibrium state.

I think this should be achievable with a #shishiOdoshi https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shishi-odoshi. And sure enough, people with exactly the same problem as me already tried https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NK6iBVMHCfU

I started building one this weekend, and it works reasonably well. I plan to use the support cross-pipe as an inlet, so I drilled some hole on the inner section. This remains to be tested.

Now that I have my #ramPump reliably filling the IBC from the creek, I need to do something with the ~500L/day overflow.

I'mma water some garden beds.

But I reckon I need more pressure that the dribble I get from the ram pump to push water into the pipes. So, next project: an overflow tank with a #bellSiphon to push 10s of litres at once when the water volume has built up.

I got a prototype going today with some success: 60L storage tub, 25mm bulk head, and 65mm PVC piping. The bulkhead needs trimming to fit in the PVC cap, and I trimmed the wrong side, but by and far, it works!

I'll need to fiddle to increase the height of the stand pipe for full 60L.
