Post- EyeOnAlaska

It’s been very busy in our yard last night and today. One of the local cinnamon colored black bears—probably a year old—came by last night to eat the fresh horsetail. Today, mama moose and the first baby of the year in our backyard. Love seeing them. Click on an image for full-screen.

Why bother with trips to Denali National Park and Preserve when we can just see this in our yard. One of our cinnamon cubs from last year enjoying the sun tonight and eating fresh horsetail. #Alaska #Anchorage #BearValley #WildLifePhotography

It finally feels like spring. May has kinda sucked so far. #Alaska #Anchorage #BearValley #MyAlaskaWx
Brown (Grizzly) bear tracks in the backyard this morning. Looks like a big one! #Alaska #Anchorage #BearValley #Bears
May must not have gotten the memo. It's 38º, with 70mph winds and snow blowing off the Chugach Mountains behind the house making it shake and rattle like a constant mid-level earthquake. Just lovely. #Alaska #Anchorage #BearValley #NotSpring
What a difference a week makes. The snowshoe hares are turning brown quickly. I have no idea who keeps throwing carrots into our backyard ;)
