I'm reminded of two things: what a great value this was (although the days when I could get this 375ml for $18 are, alas, gone); and how much more interesting mature Sauternes is.More focused, and more easily absorbing wood,this is tight and a little tense, with big flavor on the finish. Nowhere close to dying, of course.

Newer years are about $55 per half if you're wondering. This year might be available for not much more at auction, but backfilling is always risky.
