Studio SHAFT coming up with new and unique ways to create a convoluted naming system for anime. Here is the layout of the latest Monogatari season, which is called Off & Monster:

Episode 1 is OROKAMONOGATARI Tsukihi Undo
Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are NADEMONOGATARI Nadeko Draw parts 1 - 5
Between episodes 6 and 7 is an episode labelled Ex titled "A Cruel Fairy Tale: The Beautiful Princess" which is a prequel to the next arc.
Episode 7 and 8 are WAZAMONOGATARI Acerola Bon Appétit Parts 1 - 2
Episodes 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 are SHINOBUMONOGATARI Parts 1 - 6, also called Shinobu Mustards Parts 1 - 6

These are sold on four Blurays:
Orokamonogatari Vol 1
Nademonogatari Vol 1
Wazamonogatari Vol 1
Shinobumonogatari Vol 1

The #Wazamonogatari season of #Bakemonogatari includes - or shows along, whichever - #Shinobumonogatari.

IMO, Wazamonogatari isn't particularly interesting.

However, Shinobumonogatari tells the origin of Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade "Shinobu". It's GORGEOUSLY animated, with the usual surreal dialogue style, signature of original Bakemonogatari series.

Spot the homage to Serial Experiments #Lain, too =)

I did it. I finally managed to finish Nisioisin's 'Nisemonogatari' after almost 300 days. 300 days of not being able to read while commuting on my bicycle, reading other books and preparing for exams, I finally found the time and motivation to get back into the series. Nisioisin had another good hit with this one. He first made me really despise the main character and then switched it around, so that I still despised him, but also accepted him. Also, the view on the value of real deals and fake replicas was very interesting. I already have the next episode in my hands to start reading and this time, I hope I finish it in under 295 days.
