RoR (Rhythms of Resistance) Berlin is organizing a newcomers workshop!

We will talk about our principals and vision as a group and teach you some of our tunes and rhythms.

The Rhythms of Resistance (RoR) network of activist percussion bands comprises more than 75 separate activist drumming bands all over the world.

We are a transnational anti-hierarchical anticapitalist, antisexist and antiracist network fighting for social and ecological justice.

We therefore do not tolerate any form of oppressive or discriminating behavior and want to be a safer space for everybody in our group.

♿️ Accessibility

The place and toilets are accessible without stairs. But the doors to the toilets are kind of narrow.

RoR (Rhythms of Resistance) Berlin organisiert einen Workshop für Neueinsteiger\*innen für unsere Gruppe!

Wir werden über unsere Prinzipien und Visionen als Gruppe sprechen und euch einige unserer Melodien und Rhythmen auf den Instrumenten beibringen.

Das Rhythms of Resistance (RoR) Netzwerk von aktivistischen Perkussionsbands umfasst mehr als 75 verschiedene Trommelbands auf der ganzen Welt.

Wir sind ein transnationales, antihierarchisches, antikapitalistisches, antisexistisches und antirassistisches Netzwerk, das für soziale und ökologische Gerechtigkeit kämpft.

Wir dulden daher keine Form von unterdrückendem oder diskriminierendem Verhalten und wollen ein sicherer Raum für alle in unserer Gruppe sein.

Der Probeort sowie die Toiletten sind ohne Treppen erreichbar. Die Türen zu den Toiletten sind relativ eng.

On Wednesday 17 September at 7 p.m., we are hosting a solidarity film night and vegan meal at B-Lage.

Together, we will watch Pierburg – Ihr Kampf ist unser Kampf (Pierburg – Their Fight is Our Fight), a German film without subtitles.

Donations will go to Wir Packen's e.V., an emergency aid organisation for refugees.

Before the film, Irina, a former striker in Lippstadt in 1973, will give a speech.

⚠️  There are only a limited number of places available (approx. 50).

♿️ Information on barriers

There is one step at the entrance, for which there is a ramp. The toilets are NOT wheelchair accessible. Smoking is permitted in the room during normal business hours, but we kindly ask you to no smoke during the event. The film will be shown in German without subtitles. If you have any specific questions about the barriers, please write to us on Instagram or via mail ([email protected]) and we hope we can find a solution!

Gemeinsam wollen wir den Film „Pierburg – Ihr Kampf ist unser Kampf“ auf Deutsch schauen (ohne Untertitel).

Die Spenden gehen an „Wir packen's an“ e. V. – Nothilfe für Geflüchtete.

Vor dem Film gibt es einen Redebeitrag von Irina, die selbst 1973 in Lippstadt gestreikt hat. Sie kommt extra nach Berlin, um uns davon zu berichten!

⚠️ Es gibt nur begrenzt Plätze (ca. 50). Wir freuen uns auf euch!

Es gibt eine Stufe am Eingang, hierfür gibt es eine Rampe. Die WC-Möglichkeiten sind nicht rollstuhlgerecht. Palestinian Dabke Workshop with Fadi Waked in Berlin

For many Palestinians, Dabke is more than just a dance. It is an expression of cultural identity, resilience and solidarity.

In Palestine, it is danced at weddings, celebrations and protests as a sign of joie de vivre and collective perseverance.

Dabke also plays an important role in the diaspora: it connects generations, preserves traditions and creates a sense of home, no matter where you live.

At the same time, it also invites people without a Palestinian background to join in and immerse themselves in the rhythm.

Fadi is a Palestinian-Syrian dancer, choreographer and artist who lives in Berlin and works internationally. In his performances – including his solo ‘A Ticket to Another Migration’ – he deals with themes such as identity, movement and migration.
