#Blanche asked #MichaelCohen about a number of different events, including an exchange of public statements w/ Michael #Avenatti, one of #StormyDaniels's lawyers, & conversations w/his wife. He ended by asking Cohen if he had deleted his communications w/his wife around that time, & Cohen seemed genuinely stumped. Then Blanche asks if Cohen, around this time, had taken to deleting his texts more generally.

#StormyDaniels testifies that she hired Michael #Avenatti after hearing #MichaelCohen talk about the story in public which was upsetting, “because he could talk about it & I couldn’t.”
She then testifies that Cohen filed a temporary restraining order against her, seeking to keep her from speaking.
Daniels says she hired Avenatti to “speak up" for herself, appeared on CNN to get her story out.

#StormyDaniels testifies that her lawyer, Michael #Avenatti, filed a #defamation claim against #Trump against her wishes. She says she wished he had not done so because she felt it was too risky. (Avenatti, a risk-taker by nature, was sentenced to prison in 2022 for stealing from Daniels.)
Per Jonathon Swan: As Daniels was testifying about her defamation claim against Trump, the former president appeared for a while to be solidly asleep. #NodFarter
#Bove ends his cross-examination of #KeithDavidson.
Re-direct from prosecutor #Steinglass, who reads through a transcript of Davidson's recorded discussion w/ #MichaelCohen.
Davidson is asked to clarify that Michael #Avenatti, who by then was #StormyDaniels’ attorney, was denying a number of developments.
The discussions between Davidson & Cohen, he testified, were about Avenatti efforts, not coaching Stormy's words.

#Blanche says that a post from Michael #Avenatti, which caused #Trump to launch into an attack on StormyDaniels & MichaelCohen, was a political argument, about speech not in the case but on social media & in interviews.
I guess, Blanche is saying, Trump's response is not an attack on #witnesses but a continuation of a political *discussion*.
The #legal & #political strategies by the Trump #law team have always been intertwined.
With Trump, everything is politics.
#Conroy notes that a 2nd order was needed after #Trump "ratcheted up attacks on family members."
Conroy goes through Trump's alleged #GagOrder violations, including one in which he thanked #StormyDaniels's disgraced lawyer, Michael #Avenatti, for criticizing #MichaelCohen. Conroy also describes how Trump called #Cohen & Daniels "sleazebags."

MICHAEL #AVENATTI: Because number one, he’s a #criminal defendant and in our society, I don’t believe the criminal defendants generally get a fair shake. In fact, I think that the percentage of #convictions that — that the deck is stacked decidingly against all criminal defendants, number one. Number two, I don’t think that he can get a fair #trial in New York.
Confession: I fell for Michael #Avenatti when his star was rising. He was on the right side and he was charismatic. I failed to heed his gangster ambience.
These commentators' schadenfreude is misplaced though. It wasn't just that "Tr*mp bad" (he is about as bad as can be - they even mention TDS, which is just tedious), and where were they when he was being so fawned over?

I did note his resemblance to Roy Cohn.
