The remarkable life of Edith Emery β€” from Austrian prisoner of war to groundbreaking Tasmanian architect

Edith Emery's life reads like something from a Hollywood movie script β€” a successful career as a doctor cut short by Hitler's invasion of Austria, a long-distance romance that landed her in a prisoner of war camp, and her final chapter, breaking new ground in Tasmania.

@psychopoesie What i love about this is that it's a lovely building and architecturally stunning, still.

Nobody will stand in front of the new build houses, in container-box-format, and say what beautiful pieces of work they are.

I hate architects at the moment. Im sure they are nice ppl, but their work sux.

Not the biggest fan of ARM but I feel sorry for them. The government has pushed architects to breaking point with their 2 stage D&C contracts.

We can't have a process where architects undercut other architects and steal jobs. The amount of project knowledge that is lost chopping and changing designers is crazy.

The value of good architecture is lost in Australia.
