I just don't care that much.What this all looks like in a year, isn't going to be what it looks like to me.
Here's what I care about:
1. Can I self-host or store my data with a trusted thirds party the way I can with web pages.
2. Can I take my data and move it elsewhere?
3. Can I interact with my friends?
4. Can I remove communication with those who make my life a misery?
The rest falls out of that. I can write a Mastadon tool that algorithmically sorts posts if I want to. Eventually someone will, and some people will use it.
Maybe Bluesky will turn out to have good freedom promoting technology.
Fundamentally I'm not going to use it unless I have a reason to. Like, a community there I actively want to engage with.
