Idea: Each presidential #term the #president shall be entitled to #appoint 1 person to the #SupremeCourt. No more, no less. If the number isn't some exact number? Oh well. (The #Constitution does not set any limit or minimum or even demand that the number be fixed; only #congressional laws do.)

End this gamesmanship with #justices #retiring based on what #president will replace them, and some presidents getting 3 appointments versus one or none.

So Dianne #Feinstein just died. In office, shocking nobody, despite her promises she was retiring, honest.

Gavin #Newsom gets to #appoint a #replacement. I'm told he's said he's just going to appoint "a caretaker" for the office, apparently to avoid any appearance of partiality.

Um. OK. Look. Impartiality is great, but with the #Senate tied and the #nation in #crisis, THIS IS NOT A TIME TO BE AFRAID OF OFFENDING ANYONE, this is a time to get SOMEONE EFFECTIVE into that seat.

Get off the fence and appoint someone who can do the job competently, not just a seat-warmer.
