It's not growing season but this Alocacia Cuprea don't care. Enough light and humidity and they'll thrive. This new leaf just opened during a cold snap, so the new greenhouse is keeping it comfy.

Lots of tropicals are soft to the touch, but this is as solid as it looks. The leaves are very hard, as if they were molded plastic.

They have deep violet undersides, too. The other three leaves on this plant (it will lose one, it needs a bigger pot to do more) are facing the other direction.
