Games with loot boxes will be rated PEGI 16 from June, as part of sweeping changes to the age-rating system

PEGI director Dirk Bosmans explains why the European body is rethinking how it rates games, taking into account "online interactive risks" such as battle passes

I just wanted to clean up my Steam wishlist. Turns out several games have just vanished from the Steam store due to them having no age rating.
Uh, thanks, Germany. #Steam #AgeRating #GamesDeveloper

If you're a dev and you've missed this, please fill out the missing information, otherwise your game won't even display for people in Germany. And yes, this counts for games released in the past, too.

Steam :: Steamworks Development :: Age Ratings Mandatory in German Store Starting November 15

You can use our built-in ratings system for your game on Steam

Just for anyone that is unsure.. I highly doubt there is a “cut content" version of Final Fantasy XVI.

I went through a ton of amazon listings for “[uncut]" and “[complete / uncut version]” of the game and even ended up importing one from Austria that is rated 18+ just to be sure but in the end the game disc is the real give-away as it's simply labeled “PEGI 18+, USK 16+, ESRB M(15+)” - all the same.

If the intention is to ban #advertising to kids, one method is simple.

Is the website for children or are children most likely to access it? If so website is not permitted to have advertising.

Another option is to have the #ClassificationsBoard that classifies the #ageRating for film and tv programming to also do #commercials, if the commercial is deemed to be clearly #targettedAdvertising to children it is denied approval for use online..
