I’m thinking about augmenting my #aerophone AE-30's sounds by using a bluetooth Midi to an iPad running sampletank. I'm using the X-Vive bluetooth midi adapter to an iPad, and it works really well. And SampleTanks’ strings sound pretty F-ing good.
My only issue would be to switch things. Like if I wanted to switch from Strings to Brass on SampleTank….
And then adding the iPad to the soundsystem....probably need some sort of low-latency lightening port thingy to 1/4" or something…
The differences between Roland Aerophones.
Last night was the first gig I took my Aerophone AE-30 on. It was pretty solid. I used a duduk patch and a synth patch for a cover of "Easy Lover”. Switching is simple using the iOS app I had running on an iPad mini. Also used a slightly modified 60s String patch for background parts for a couple of songs. And two harmonica patches for two harmonica solos (Reggae Woman was one of them).
Generally worked really well.
I'm wondering if there is some sort of site/forum where people are trading Roland AE-20/AE-30 custom patches. Like there are the 5 volumes you can buy on Roland cloud (I have 3 of them), and supposedly all the OTHER things listed for the AE-30 don’t really work with it.
But I have done mods to some of the patches to make them, I think, better. Like the 60’s String patch I added a little Cello to it to give it some depth.
